Countdown to Wrestlemania XXX: Match previews pt. 6

The day is drawing near. Wrestlemania XXX is three days away. Today is our last match preview.  Before we get into it, we have some fun announcements.  We will have our first podcast release later on today with our audio preview and predictions for Wrestlemania XXX.  We also have launched our twitter account @IOWrestling.  If that's not enough, we have also launched a Facebook fan page!

Now that our plugs are out of the way, we will be covering two matches today, as they go hand in hand with each other and seem like the main matches on the show. Let's get do this!

Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H

This match has been building since Summerslam, when Triple H cost Daniel Bryan the WWE Championship.  Bryan finally gets his chance at revenge this Sunday.  This match didn't just happen either, they had to get to this match in a very different way.

Triple H explained to the fans that he screwed Daniel Bryan because it was "best for business" and that Daniel Bryan was not an "A+ player".  Triple H stated that he liked Daniel as a "little" talented wrestler who was really a "B+ Player." Daniel Bryan fought with the Authority for months and tried to beat Randy Orton for the WWE Championship.  Thanks to the Authority, he wasn't successful.  Bryan was not entered in the Royal Rumble match and he blamed Triple H for holding him back because he wasn't an "A+ Player." Triple H denied these allegations and informed Daniel that he would have one last shot at Wrestlemania glory by entering him in the Elimination Chamber.  That night the Director of Operations, Kane, cost Daniel Bryan the match and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Bryan came up to Triple H the next night and informed him that if he couldn't be in the title match, he wanted to face the Game.  Hunter laughed at Bryan and said it wouldn't happen.  Triple H denied Bryan for weeks... until Occupy Raw.  Daniel Bryan brought 30 to 40 WWE fans into the ring and hijacked the show.  He demanded Triple H give the people what they wanted.  Triple H eventually accepted the match... but that wasn't enough.  Daniel stated that they would leave if the stipulation was added that Daniel Bryan would be in the main event of Wrestlemania if he beat Triple H.  Then it happened... Wrestlemania was saved.

Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H represents a movement and it signifies a change.  Daniel Bryan could be THE man at the end of this program.  His match with Triple H could be a classic, and that might not be it. He might have one more obstacle....

Triple Threat for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. Winner of Bryan/HHH

If Daniel Bryan does beat HHH, then he goes on to the Triple Threat main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. If Daniel Bryan loses though, Triple H will be in the match instead. Either way, this match is better off. This match was originally slated to be Orton vs. Batista, but fan backlash seemed to change direction. Now there is a buzz about this match thanks to Daniel Bryan.

Batista came back at the Royal Rumble and did not receive the ovation that WWE expected.  What he got was the opposite of a hero's welcome. The fans said no.  After the Royal Rumble, it was obvious that fans refused to accept Batista as the conquering hero.  They also had no interest in seeing him face Orton for the Championship.

Randy Orton has also had a strange 2014.  To some, he feels like he is on the back burner, even though he is champion.  He has always felt like second place to the Daniel Bryan-Triple H story.  What is hard about this is the fact that Orton has been working very hard and deserves credit for upping his game.  Unfortunately that doesn't seem like a possibility at the moment.

What the fans want is to see Daniel Bryan leading 70,000 people screaming YES! while he hoists up his Championship titles.  I hope this is the image that ends the program.  I know I'm not alone.

Thank you for reading, and keep checking the site for daily posts and updates. Don't forget to check later today for the first episode of our podcast!

WWE Cruiserweight Classic: Thoughts and Hopes for the tournament

Wednesday night kicked off the opening of the 32 man tournament known as the Cruiserweight Classic. This is an extremely significant venture for the WWE and the WWE Network.  Growing up a wrestling fan, I didn't think I would see something like this happen in a major North American promotion, and certainly not the WWE.  The fact that most of the talent lineup are not under a WWE contract makes it even more fascinating. What also makes this tournament fascinating is the presentation.  This show is being treated like a sporting event with serious discussion on weight cutting, fighting styles and the representations of their countries.  They even did a Bracketology special.  This is a complete departure from the WWE presentation style.  This isn't sports entertainment, this is professional wrestling, and they are pushing that fact.  Mauro Ranallo and Daniel Bryan bring a feel of legitimacy and excitement to their announcing that this show feels even more special. They are pur

WWE Extreme Rules 2014: Thoughts and Review

I just wanted to do a quick breakdown of my thoughts on the show last night.  Overall, I enjoyed the show. That being said, there were a few things I did not care for.  Let's break it down! Pre-Show--- WeeLC: El Torito vs. Hornswoggle: This worked for me as a comedy special attraction.  The second half of this match really got over with the crowd at the IZOD Center.  Good for these guys to put on a fun show. Rating : *** Match #1: Swagger vs. RVD vs. Cesaro This was a fun match and had the crowd going.  The finish was terrifying with Rob cutting his face on the trash can.  This was a nice win for Cesaro, and I hope he can move on soon. Rating: *** Match #2: R-Truth and Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev: Squashtastic. Plain and simply a quick and painless match that felt kind of pointless.  Rusev looks strong, and R-Truth continues to ruin Xavier Woods.   Rating : * Match #3: Bad News Barrett vs. Big E Langston (C) for the Intercontinental Championship: This w

RAW 7/25/16: One of the greatest RAW episodes ever?

This week's WWE Raw was a big deal. It was the first episode of the new era.  They needed to bring something different. They needed a good show to get the brand started off right.  They didn't deliver a good show... They delivered a great show.  To start off the new feel, they had a much improved opening video/song. They started the show with a talking segment to establish the evening, and then never looked back.  But the question isn't whether or not this show rocked, but why did it work so much better than the last year of RAW?  Well there are quite a few things that worked in this episode's favor, so I am going to break it down a bit. 1.) Making Stars Holy cow, this has to be the first thing I cover.  They made two stars tonight and also highlighted other talents effectively.  Finn Balor and Sasha Banks came out of this show looking like a trillion dollars.  The crowd was into Finn Balor, but I don't think they believed he would win the fatal
