How NXT has saved my fandom of the WWE...

I write this post almost an entire year after our last post.  I have lost plenty of interest in the WWE over the past year. I won't lie to you and say I stopped paying attention to it, but my care for it dipped to a point where I would skip shows for a few weeks and ask my Dad what was going on.  This is very much a change coming from a guy who used to clamor for every bit of wrestling he could find. During this time of bad Authority angles, bad Divas storylines, and lack of an interesting mid-card, there was only one thing that held any level of my attention.  That one thing was NXT.  NXT is based out of my hometown Orlando, Florida.  It provided an alternative to what the main shows were offering.  When I was unhappy with the Authority vs. Daniel Bryan/Cena/Reigns/Orton or watching Dolph Ziggler get another rug pulled out from under him, I had the Zayn, Neville, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Finn Balor, and Kevin Owens.  NXT provided a haven of an old sc...

WWE Extreme Rules 2014: Thoughts and Review

I just wanted to do a quick breakdown of my thoughts on the show last night.  Overall, I enjoyed the show. That being said, there were a few things I did not care for.  Let's break it down! Pre-Show--- WeeLC: El Torito vs. Hornswoggle: This worked for me as a comedy special attraction.  The second half of this match really got over with the crowd at the IZOD Center.  Good for these guys to put on a fun show. Rating : *** Match #1: Swagger vs. RVD vs. Cesaro This was a fun match and had the crowd going.  The finish was terrifying with Rob cutting his face on the trash can.  This was a nice win for Cesaro, and I hope he can move on soon. Rating: *** Match #2: R-Truth and Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev: Squashtastic. Plain and simply a quick and painless match that felt kind of pointless.  Rusev looks strong, and R-Truth continues to ruin Xavier Woods.   Rating : * Match #3: Bad News Barrett vs. Big E Langston (C) for the Int...

Wrestlemania XXX Thoughts and Review

I think Wrestlemania XXX will go down as one of the more memorable Wrestlemanias in history. There were some very happy moments, some confusing moments, and one downright shocking moment.  I look forward to talking about this show for years to come. Starting at 6:00 pm EST was the Wrestlemania Pre-show that delivered a very fun match.... The Usos def. Rybaxel, Los Matadores, The Real Americans for the WWE Tag Team Championship This match delivered as for the Pre-show.  It was fast paced and had some fun moments.  The last few minutes were the highlight of the match.  The Usos won with a double splash on Cesaro .  This then led to a post match face turn for Cesaro. Crowd was really hot for Cesaro's giant swing on Swagger.  Very good stuff. Rating : *** The main show opened with a long but very fun intro with Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the Rock.  Hogan messing up and saying Silver Dome was hilarious, as was Steve Austin and the R...

Countdown to Wrestlemania XXX: Match Previews pt. 5

My goodness, we are inching closer and closer to Sunday and the little kid in me is giddy.  I can't help but find it strange that two months ago I didn't care about the show.  I feel there are several factors that led to this Wrestlemania feeling different and special.  There is the Daniel Bryan factor, which is a big deal, there's also the WWE Network hype.  One other thing that feels special and is this surge of young talent in big spots.  One talent in particular is skyrocketing to stardom this year... Bray Wyatt. That leads us to today's match. John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt Legacy. That word is being used a lot in the build to this match. That certainly could be because of Eminem, but it is also very fitting.  John Cena has crafted a legacy unlike any other.  He has been scrutinized by many fans, but has also been a symbol of hope for many children.  Love him or hate him, there is no denying the man's passion for WWE.  He wanted to ta...
