Countdown to Wrestlemania XXX: Match Previews pt. 5

My goodness, we are inching closer and closer to Sunday and the little kid in me is giddy.  I can't help but find it strange that two months ago I didn't care about the show.  I feel there are several factors that led to this Wrestlemania feeling different and special.  There is the Daniel Bryan factor, which is a big deal, there's also the WWE Network hype.  One other thing that feels special and is this surge of young talent in big spots.  One talent in particular is skyrocketing to stardom this year... Bray Wyatt. That leads us to today's match.

John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt

Legacy. That word is being used a lot in the build to this match. That certainly could be because of Eminem, but it is also very fitting.  John Cena has crafted a legacy unlike any other.  He has been scrutinized by many fans, but has also been a symbol of hope for many children.  Love him or hate him, there is no denying the man's passion for WWE.  He wanted to take the company on his shoulders, he wanted the responsibility and the burden of the top spot.  To those that say every guy succeeds when they are given the top spot... I present Lex Luger.  You either have it or you don't, and John Cena has it.  It can be argued that he was not used properly for many years, a sentiment I tend to agree with, but his talent should no longer be denied.  He has had amazing matches over the past three years and he could have a hell of a match this Sunday against a reaper, a monster... the eater of worlds.

Bray Wyatt is something the world has never seen before.  Bray Wyatt talks in such a manor that captures the audience with fascination and horror.  The way he carries himself is truly astounding. I first saw Bray Wyatt on FCW which would become NXT.  On NXT, he came into his own, he became a star of NXT along with his family Erick Rowan and Luke Harper.  Then he made the leap to WWE.  He got some buzz immediately with his amazing debut, but faded slightly into Summerslam.  The engine kept running though, and Bray Wyatt got sharper, scarier, and just plain better.  Bray Wyatt targeted Daniel Bryan and had an amazing match at the Royal Rumble.  Not only did Bray Wyatt have a star-making performance, he beat Daniel Bryan. Bray Wyatt was not done there...

John Cena failed in his attempt to beat Orton in December and January. He would attempt to cash in his last shot at the Wrestlemania main event at Elimination Chamber. That's where Mr. Wyatt comes into play. Bray and his family "magically" appeared inside the chamber and took Cena out with Sister Abigail's Kiss.  This would jettison these two stars on a collision course at the show of shows.  Bray Wyatt would play mind games with Cena.  John admitted he was scared. He admitted to Michael Cole that he couldn't scout a man that didn't seem to care about being the best.  Bray Wyatt cares about one thing, exposing John Cena as a monster.  Exposing John Cena to the fact that he would fade away and would feel alone.  Bray Wyatt wants to destroy John's legacy.  John Cena got a little payback though, this past Monday, by sneaking into the ring with the family dressed as one of them.  John then brought the brawl to the family. And showed he was willing to face his fear head on.

This match has a ridiculous amount of potential.  One thing that will hype you more than anything is the promo video featuring Eminem's Legacy.  Win, lose, or draw, Bray Wyatt could become a big star with this match.  Bray Wyatt is special and so is John Cena.  I think this match could steal the show.  That is certainly a tough task on this top-heavy card, but they are talented enough to make it happen.

Check out tomorrow for our preview on two matches; Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H and the Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. See you tomorrow!

WWE Cruiserweight Classic: Thoughts and Hopes for the tournament

Wednesday night kicked off the opening of the 32 man tournament known as the Cruiserweight Classic. This is an extremely significant venture for the WWE and the WWE Network.  Growing up a wrestling fan, I didn't think I would see something like this happen in a major North American promotion, and certainly not the WWE.  The fact that most of the talent lineup are not under a WWE contract makes it even more fascinating. What also makes this tournament fascinating is the presentation.  This show is being treated like a sporting event with serious discussion on weight cutting, fighting styles and the representations of their countries.  They even did a Bracketology special.  This is a complete departure from the WWE presentation style.  This isn't sports entertainment, this is professional wrestling, and they are pushing that fact.  Mauro Ranallo and Daniel Bryan bring a feel of legitimacy and excitement to their announcing that this show feels even more special. They are pur

WWE Extreme Rules 2014: Thoughts and Review

I just wanted to do a quick breakdown of my thoughts on the show last night.  Overall, I enjoyed the show. That being said, there were a few things I did not care for.  Let's break it down! Pre-Show--- WeeLC: El Torito vs. Hornswoggle: This worked for me as a comedy special attraction.  The second half of this match really got over with the crowd at the IZOD Center.  Good for these guys to put on a fun show. Rating : *** Match #1: Swagger vs. RVD vs. Cesaro This was a fun match and had the crowd going.  The finish was terrifying with Rob cutting his face on the trash can.  This was a nice win for Cesaro, and I hope he can move on soon. Rating: *** Match #2: R-Truth and Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev: Squashtastic. Plain and simply a quick and painless match that felt kind of pointless.  Rusev looks strong, and R-Truth continues to ruin Xavier Woods.   Rating : * Match #3: Bad News Barrett vs. Big E Langston (C) for the Intercontinental Championship: This w

RAW 7/25/16: One of the greatest RAW episodes ever?

This week's WWE Raw was a big deal. It was the first episode of the new era.  They needed to bring something different. They needed a good show to get the brand started off right.  They didn't deliver a good show... They delivered a great show.  To start off the new feel, they had a much improved opening video/song. They started the show with a talking segment to establish the evening, and then never looked back.  But the question isn't whether or not this show rocked, but why did it work so much better than the last year of RAW?  Well there are quite a few things that worked in this episode's favor, so I am going to break it down a bit. 1.) Making Stars Holy cow, this has to be the first thing I cover.  They made two stars tonight and also highlighted other talents effectively.  Finn Balor and Sasha Banks came out of this show looking like a trillion dollars.  The crowd was into Finn Balor, but I don't think they believed he would win the fatal
